head gasket bites it!
another head gasket blew in my car WTF! the guage went all the way to 260 b4 i noticed it was too late. what is the likely hood of warping the deck on a block, i know its pretty much mandatory to have your heads checked and resurfaced. this is the 2nd time its done this, what frustrate me the most is that i didnt send the heads out the 1st time, which probably Y its doing this again.
since i'll get my heads(AFR's) resurfaced ,hopefully they take a little more off when they resurface them i believe its .006 for every 1/4 point of compression, how much do they remove when they resurface heads?

Are you using stock .041" gaskets or the little .015"'s? I've seen alot of people use aluminum heads w/ .015" gaskets to up the CR, and then they realize the poor machining on their heads/deck. Aluminum heads expand more when they get hot than cast heads do, so if there are any machining problems IE warped deck or heads, they'll be more apparent with a thinner gasket.

to be honest with , i dont know exactly what thickness they were, but this is the thing i did differently, i used ROL brand "high temp" gaskets on my car. i really dont think i warped a block , but i am defintely going to use felpro again, and first thing i'll do is check the deck and heads for straightness
question: how and what conditions are needed to crack a block?
when my car over heated i shut it right off and let it cool down on it own with the hood off.

Factory fan switches don't even turn on until over 230°. If 220° was so bad I doubt the OEs would set their cars up like that. Unless of course you know something they don't.
But as far as the original post, I believe if I had $1500 worht of heads on my motor, I'd take a little better care of them than that. When you see the temp gauge go into the red, just remember, that's what they put the ignition swith there for.
The ROL gaskets are OK, so are the better Mr Gasket composition ones, the good Victor-Reinz, and of course Fel Pro. Don't use steel-shim head gaskets under any circumstances, they are highly prone to failure.
Figure out what's wrong with your cooling system.

i didnt realize the c ar was that hot, i literally drove around the block , got on it a little and that was it....it kinda stumbled so i pulled into the drive way when i noticed the gauge creeping right up to 260.
AND YES I DO TAKE CARE OF MY INVESTMENT?
the car was fine before i parked it 3 wks earlier. i honestly dont think 260 is enough to crack a block considering combustion chamer temperatures inside a motor, i mean factory cars run around 220-230, its not i drove the bitch to boston.
i think: i should 've had the heads resurfaced the 1st time i blew a gasket
i think ROL makes and inferior gasket compared to felpro
i think i shouldnt build a 400+ hp and not address the cooling system
i think i need alot more than 2 constant running fans
i think if my block is toast i'll build a 406
