Need help. I have a problem with the rear of my car...

During 1/2 to full throttle off a red light, I get a bang sound from the pass. rear tire area. This only happens sometimes. I just had an aligment done this morning and the banging started this afternoon. Do they do any adjustments back there or is it my u-joint?
Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.

Tommy

You said the sound was coming from your passenger rear tire, might want to check to make sure the spare tire is not loose. If it's not the tire, then take it back to where your car had the alignment done.

Car: yy wife, crazy.
Engine: 350, Vortecs, 650DP
Transmission: TH-350
Axle/Gears: 8.5", 3.42
Check all the rear axle mounting stuff like the panard (spelling?) bar, torque arm, etc. I put a shift kit in my trans, then I always heard that clunk when it shifted. Found out that the crosslink thingy was loose on the axle. Sorry, I'm too tired to think of names of stuff right now.

Good Night ya'll

OK guys. I can't see under the car b/c it's too dark and I don't feel like ripping covers off at midnight.

BUT, I did take the car out and performed a little experiment. It's the same bang noise as if you throw it in reverse and give it some gas. The wheel hop banging is the EXACT same sound. Does this help???

You could also check the rear right upper shock mount to see if it's busted through; but I'd put my bets on the other suggestions first.

Thanks guys for all your help. It was the tranny mount. I installed a polyurethane one now. It now feels different when I push the car into high revs (3,500+). I feel a slight vibration in my *** . Hopefully it'll go away when the mount breaks in a little.
