What is my engine worth???

I'm planning on pulling the 350 tpi out of my 89 Iroc and installing a carb. fed stroker engine. Its a l 98 w/ a 30 over bore, new trw pistons. The bottom end is stock and has been balanced, stock heads w/new valves and screw in rocker studs. New crane cam (pretty much stock grind), new crane roller lifters, pushrods, cloyes timing set comp cams magnum tipped rocker arms 1.52 ratio. The tpi & injectors are all stock w/ no mods. Has aHypertech afpr., thermomaster chip, fan switch, msd 6A and a blaster coil. The computer and all of its associated wiring and the 700R4 stock transmission go with the deal. The trans is a GM rebuilt. The engine has less than 200 miles since being rebuilt "yes 200 miles" and runs great.

What do you guys think I should be able to get out of this setup???

I'll give you what's in my wallet for it...

(nothing)... No, I'm just busting your *****... 350 blocks go alot these days... Someone had a spun bearing 350 longblock that someone said they should sell it for no less than a grand... "if you can't get at least that, then you'd better off keeping it for parts" was what the guy said...

So I dunno... put an add in the paper saying "fresh 350 longblock, make offer, serioud inqiries only..." and see what you come up with... each area of the counrty you'll get different dollar amounts.. (cali will give yuo -much -less, while if you were to sell it here, you'd probably get the highest amount (parts yards are -ver- expensive around here)....)

Hope that helps you out...

That 400 4-bolt is about as useful as a slingshot at a gunfight.........

The 400/4bolt just came back from the machine shop it's a 71 std bore with no cracks or flaws found it is sitting on a stand awaiting the hardblock to arrive then off to the machinist again for decking, bore job with plates, cam berings ect then home for the 377 scat assy.the scat crank has 400 size journals so no spacers

I'd Trade you that setup for my '83 Z28. It's a 305 auto with NO t-tops. It's a solid project/driver. I doubt you'd be interested, but if you or anyone else would be interested in trading me a tpi setup and 700R4 for this car, let me know. I need the setup to put in my '64 Chevy SWB truck

1000 for a 350 longblock w/ a spun bearing? Damn. Around here 350's are like crackheads in New York, they're everywhere. I could get a new rebuilt one for $400 w/ a core...and I have 4 cores in the back yard.

Tranny's? you can get a good 700R4 for around $200 here.

Ovrclck, haven't seen too many "good" trannys for $200 (unless you built it yourself and add at least $100 to that for good internals, or just like charity), nor have I seen a stout 350 rebuild I would waste time slapping in my vehicle for $400. It's hard to even find a good set of heads for that price. Maybe for a beater, or for strictly bone stock (or worse) purposes, but not for building something worthwhile.

He's talking about the engine, tranny, TPI setup and harness, and computer. That should carry at least a $1500 price tag, IMO.

In Lafayette, a 700R4, used is about $600, a rebuilt one is $1200 from a tranny shop. I bought 2 350's, both need rebuilt, all parts there, but no on the enigne, 1 is a 98, the other a 91 $500 for both, and the 98 had the Vortec heads. 91 had spun rod brg., 98 had broken crank. I would expect to pay a good $3000-$3500 for the rebuilt 350 w/TPI and a 700R4 if I could get reciepts.
