what cam for this engine combo????
i am in the process of building a new motor for the spring, my car is a 91 Z(SD) origionally a 350, im building a 355, 4 bolt, pink rods, keith black forged flat tops, dart sportsman heads( 2.02, 1.6), crane roller rockers, accel 24# injectors, edelbrock 52mm TB, ported plenum, SLP or AS&M runners( havent decided) and an edelbrock base, i already have MSD Digital 6, MSD blaster coil, MSD wires etc. Now i just need to pick a cam and lifters, any ideas?i was looking at the Lt4 Hot Cam, or comp cams 08-302-8, 210 220 dur @ .050, 480, 480 lift, 112 LSA, to me the hot cam seems a bit wild and the comp not enough for the combo, what do you guys think???

Gold 85 Camaro with no motor, pulled the 2.8 to make way for a 350 wich was pulled this summer because a 406 will replace it. The 406 sports a stock bottom end with ARP bolt holding it togeter, flat top hyper pistons. Comp 282 solid cam(.528 lift with 1.6 rockers) Savin up for my Sportsmen 2 heads right now. still Have the perf RPM and 650 DP i used on the 350. Headers and 3inch exhust. Shooten for mid to low 12s next summer

I would go with the LT4 hot cam. I don't think it will be too wild. I hope not I have mine in the box for my buildup. It does have a lot more lobe than the LT1 cam I just put in my truck.
thanks for the replies, keep em comin,
and i would like to stick with a hydraulic roller, but if you have a differetn set up idea, feel free to suggest, this is my first engine build up, so im open to ideas, thanks again guys.

Hot Cam, definitely. That comp's 302 seems a bit too small. And definitely stick with the roller cam, a hydraulic one will pissoff the computer. Ride4Me, IMHO the LT4 hotcam is too big for a 305. Even that comp 302 would be a little big unless you had some other good mods, like heads and exhaust. And the price of a cam install will just about break ya.
