My car cut off on me

I start backing out of the parking space and soon as I took my foot off the gas and before I could put it in drive and go it cut off and the SES light came on. I started it back up and the light went away, I put it back into drive and before I could push the gas it cut off again, but the light didn't come on that time. So again I started it back up and I just got lucky and was able to get on the gas before it cut off...... Then I was at a stop sign and it sounded like it wanted to cut off on me again, so I put it in neutral and it sounded normal, although it always sounds better idling in neutral than in drive because I have a rough/high idle when it's in drive but I can't tell where it's idling at in drive because the tach is broke.

Yeah sounds like the IAC, you should run down to Checker's and have them scan for codes.....and make sure you haven't disconnected your battery because if so your codes might have been cleared.

You should scan it for codes (check engine soon light) and also when your getting it checked look if the Idle Air Control is opening and closing like it should, and not sticking.
