Spark Plug Removal

Here is a question hopefully someone answers too...lol. I have a 91 Camaro with the 305 TBI and some of the spark plugs are a MAJOR PAIN to simply remove. May sound foolish to some of you but this my first Camaro I have owned so advice is needed. If any tool or technique may help me then I would greatly appreciate the input. If I need to buy more tools then so be it because I am sure I will be tuning up this motor often...lol.

Some of the back ones are easier to get from underneath the car. I use a 3/8s rachet with 3 inch extension.

You'll need a spark plug socket, a flex-head ratchet to fit it, a 3" extension bar, a 6" extension bar, and an open end wrench to fit the spark plug socket (the flats are on the plug socket for a reason).

Never understood that gripe. I can get to all of them from the top without too much difficulty at all. Maybe it's that they just haven't had a really tough one yet?

If you got some seriously skinny fore-arms and some nimble fingers, getting them all from the top is not impossible. I've done it once that way, however I prefer to get the rear plugs from the bottom.

I use a ratchet, a 3/8 drive universal joint, 3 inch extension, and of course the socket. With those four tools, I can get them all.

easy to do 7 above 8th cyl is tough

3/8 rachet 5/8 spark plug socket with manifolds and air tubes, took me 20 mins

Just reach your arm all the way in, once you get 3 on each side do 4th one by emoving brake booster vacuum hose, and emission tube hose and reach on down.

Now, lift up the car Disconnect the battery( if you touch rachet to starter you get a spark show ) and go from under the y pipe to the 8th plug

Easy really it takes a few times to get used to it. Also i recoomend autolite plat's

Ok....sounds great, though I do not have the skinny forearms to do all from the top...lol. Just got to get a couple of tools and hope that it all works well for me. I actually use Bosch Platinum. Have had good luck with them so far.
