yep. The mark was pointing down and it didn't work and I have been doing 1/4 turns and it is still not coming off. I am about ready to explode. it is really pissing me off. If I can't get it soon. I am going to sell it. I am super frustrated. 4 days and I still haven't gotten the stupid oil pan off.

Wheels off the ground. Did you take the blots out of the motor mounts so the motor would lift away from the frame.

Also, make sure you take your distributor cap completly off, not just loosened. I had the same problem in my camaro when I was replacing the rear main oil seal. Took two days before my neighbor came over and pointed to my distrib and said it was hitting the firewall.

Re: Need help fast! Oil Pan not coming off???

I had a similar problem during my removal/installation
a few months back, where the edge of the oil pan was
tagging the flexplate.

Depending on how much room you have, use
some force, pull the back corner down, get one
corner to clear, then shimmy it out.. It took a
little muscle.

I had to use a rubber mallet and a friend to
pull a corner down while I was tapping, and it
came out with some finesse.

I had about a inch to work with, so I knew I
could get away with it, not bending or flexing
the pan in the process.

I found the trickiest part was sealing it back
up, as I had to shove the pan back in place
then, seal it with RTV underneath the motor.

If all else fails, try 1FastAm's idea or pull it..

Good luck
