I know that. What is causing my plugs to smell like fuel?

Your car is running way too rich. That's why you have the excessive carbon deposit. Is your engine carburated or fuel injected? Don't know much about car carbs, but in the case of motorcycles this is usually caused by the carbs being jetted too large.
If the car is FI, you could have a bad 02 sensor, leaking fuel injectors, or too much fuel pressure.

Re: So i just pulled 4 of my spark plugs..

if his car is stock it's got a computer controled Q-jet, chang out the plugs and the O2 sensor, and if that dosen't work you might need a re-build on the carb, I honestly could never get them to work right and i went to a edelbrock Q-jet and a vaccume distributor (when it was a 305) there allot easier to work W/

if it's got a holly on it than it's not stock.... O2 sensor is moot...it sounds like u need to re-jet it down a few jets

I have no idea how to do that. Is there a tutorial around here that shows how to do it?

You guys are joking right?
Am I seriously the first one to ask
WHICH 4 SPARK PLUGS DID YOU PULL?!?!?

Did you pull all 8? Are they all the same?
Holley carb eh? What intake manifold is on it?

Go pick up a manual on holleys, and a jet kit. You'll need to lean it out.

run a can or two of seafoam through gas tank and it will clean out carbon (just one can at a time)

Driver side plugs.. since that was the side that was giving me problems.. But so far.. the 4 i pulled are all indentical.

Dont know the intake manifold.. Ill let you know once i get all the build up garbage off it

Just found a manual for the carb a few mins ago.. Reading it now

Got 2 off the other side.. They are just as dirty and smelly as the driver side.. The first thing i should have gone was replace these plugs. lol.

Ok, fair enough.
I'd tune the carb first, otherwise you're probably gonna ruin more plugs. Clean these with a wire brush.
Try to tune it based on vacuum and speed and sluggishness/surging. That'll be ballpark. Then throw in new plugs with silver threads, rather than black. Then continue, read plugs, etc.

Re: So i just pulled 4 of my spark plugs..

Mechanical/vacuum distributor to go with that carb or the original computer controlled dist in there? Make sure you're good on ignition and timing before thinking about doing any changes to the carb.

Retarded timing and improper advance can exacerbate a rich condition.

I dont think the plugs have been replaced since 2004-2005.. Unless there isn't a reciept for a newer set of plugs.. Maybe the plugs just got old?
