Driver's engine accessory bracket won't come off!
Well I'm trying to remove my accessory brackets and random engine parts for painting since they look awful now, however when I got to the driver's side bracket, it won't budge even though I can swear I removed all bolts/fasteners. I even lightly tapped it with a hammer and it didn't move at all. My PS pump is still on there but as far as I can tell, it's attached just to the bracket not counting the hoses. Is there a trick? Is there a hidden bolt somewhere? A diagram would be handy if one exists. Thanks guys!
here's a picture if it helps:
It's a 91 car with the 305 TPI so its got the serpentine belt system.

Your missing one or more bolts removed - they are in the nooks and crannies of the bracket - also underneath - get a hand mirror (wife's compact maybe?) and look up in there with the mirror and a flashlight - some are hidden very well and deep in the nooks.

Should be 5 bolts holding the bracket on
2 near the crank snout outside of the timing cover and 3 in the cyl heads
Sometimes the rear of the PS pump has a small bracket bolted to the side of the block too, but I dont remember one for 3rd gens

There is one directly behind the power steering pump. You have to pull the pulley off then unbolt the pump.

You dont need to remove the PS to get it off. There are, as mentioned above, 5 bolts. 2 at the very bottom (one above the other) and three in the cylinder head. One is near the top of the head (the highest point, over at the left edge of the valve cover), one below that, and one all the way to the right side of the head.

I remember having to pull the pulley off the PS pump to get to at least one bolt behind it. I didnt see any other way to do it, and I've done it a few times now.

You remembered wrong then. I pulled one today and took pics
Its just 5 bolts. You likely missed the hard to see one near the reservoir cap. PS pump can stay put during the removal

How did you get to the hole behind the PS Pump filler cap?

The trucks use a different mounting system
I remember quite the struggle to remove the bracket with the pump in a JY because one of the rear or side bolts was difficult to reach. Fbody is strait forward

Re: Driver's engine accessory bracket won't come off!
I cant remember why... for some reason I coudlnt get a combination of sockets and u-joints or extensions anywhere near able to get to that last bolt behind the cap on the PS Pump.
Regardless, it's much easier to leave the PS Pump on the car when doing the engine swap tango so I still suggest pulling the pulley off and removing it from the bracket.
But if you can get to that bolt without pulling the pump, then go for it. I wasnt able to.

Thanks for the responses guys.... from the sounds of it I guess I'll need to get a puller. Oh well, sounds like a plan!

Yeah you're right. Upon closer inspection (fresh head and daytime vs tired and nighttime last time) I realized that I was able to access them without removing anything. However I got the puller anyway since I removed the pump afterward... which was a PAIN.

Re: Driver's engine accessory bracket won't come off!
OK well I got the bracket off and the pump off the bracket... but the bolt from the puller kit is stuck in the pump. It's threaded in there pretty tightly so is there a way to perhaps (safely?) jam the pump to make it not spin while I unscrew the bolt?
