350 TPI Hard to Start - please help

Hi all,

My 89 350 is hard to start and I don't know where to go from here.

I have to prime the fuel pump 2 to 3 times to get it to start when it is cold.

Only once when it is warm.

Already replaced the following:
Cap/Rotor
Plugs/Wires
Injectors
Fuel Filter

What do I do next?

Mine tends to idle high for a bit too, almost to 2k rpm. Doesn't go down until you drive it for a short time. Not sure if that would be related.

THE MAF TPI SYSTEM IS JUNK. ALONG WITH THE STOCK INJECTORS.

I REPLACED MY INJECTORS AND IT GOT BETTER.

I PURCHASED A STAND ALONE SPEED DENSITY HARNESS,ECM AND PROM.

CURED EVERYTHING............HOT START ISSUE,LONG CRANK,IDLE SURGE,COLD STUMBLE.

EVERY PROBLEM ANYONE HAS EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT I HAD,I TRIED EVERYTHING.

ONLY THING THAT GOT IT RIGHT WAS THE INJECTORS AND CHANGING IT OVER TO SPEED DENSITY.

SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK

Yeah, I've had a lot of problems in the past with the MAF, but managed to solve them all with time. It actually is a rather efficient system (when it is working). I do think the cold start injector is likely my problem. I recently replaced the injectors with modified Bosch 3's so the injectors should be alright, I'll check the CSI later on. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: 350 TPI Hard to Start - please help

you have the cold start injector , the OP does not.

you can eliminate the cold start on your car with a 89 prom.
