Inexpensive street/strip oil pan?

I'm looking for something under $150 that will fit .It needs a driver side dipstick and at least more than stock capacity. It is a '67 gen 1 block with a one piece main seal. Not really shure what would fit in my Camaro with that block.Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Inexpensive street/strip oil pan?

Wait, it's a 1967 block with a 1pc RMS? Huh? Did you put on an adapter setup or something to use the 1pc RMS or was that a typo?
Why not use a stock oil pan for a 350 chev? What are you trying to gain by going to an aftermarket oil pan? 3rd gen Camaro's just use standard oil pans (not truck, but standard V8 car oil pans). Unless you want to spend more money on a baffled, louvred, chrome plated etc etc pan, you may as well stick with the stock one?

It is a 2pc seal.Mainly I'm looking for extra oil capacity overall.

Re: Inexpensive street/strip oil pan?

Ok. Deeper oil pans (ie truck style) generally won't fit due to ground clearance.
Side kickout pans (meant for 3rd gens) are more than $150 usually, and have problems with exhaust clearance.
The standard volume pan is fine, there is generally no "good" reason to upgrade that.

Re: Inexpensive street/strip oil pan?

You are kind of stuck with the stock oil pan. Anything else is going to be a compromise. A deepened pan will hit the ground on rough roads and such especially if you have lowered it. Any kick out pan will give you header fit issues. I just went through this mess! There is an easier way out though. Use a stock pan with a remote duel oil filter arrangement. Use the big long GM filters. That should put you pretty close to 7 quarts. If you are making good power 450 to 500 HP the heat will be hard to dissipate. So run it all through a cooler first. Change the pump pick up to a good Millidon or such. Make sure the pan is well baffled. If the pickup becomes uncovered..... uh oh!

Re: Inexpensive street/strip oil pan?

I bought an aluminum pan with a melling pump and pickup off ebay for around 90 bucks. It comes with the bolts too but no gasket.Hopefully this will fit with no issues.I'll post pics once I get it on.It should be here this week.

a couple things that may add to your capacity - bigger oil filter (truck ones are about 2x the size of the car ones, there's also a crazy long van one i bought before, but don't remember the specific applicaton) and an oil cooler. both also have additional benefits such as better filtration and cooler engine oil temps.

Re: Inexpensive street/strip oil pan?

The new pan arrived.I installed the new pump/pickup with no issues.Awesome stainless hardware was included,The only issue with the pan was the plug.I had to chase the threads a few times before the plug would go in .I noticed a full run of threads missing in the hole but it seems to be snugging down nice now.The pan is a 7 quart pan.I did a test fit and it goes in the car while clearing the k-member.I have a pic of other stuff just not of the pan as of yet.I will post as soon as possible.
