Where can I get a breather grommet?
Where can I get a breather grommet?
My breather hose is pretty loose at the valve cover. There's a lot of play in any direction (all 360 degrees). I've read that you can't just use a PCV valve grommet for it, even though the hole sizes are the same. So where can I get just a breather grommet for the passenger side valve cover? Besides a junkyard.
Also, a long time ago, I misplaced the metal clip that holds the breather element/filter to the air cleaner assembly. Does that matter much? The breather element/filter is so cheap, and it comes with a metal clip too. I might just buy a new one.

I was providing the part number for a new pcv grommet, if you want the gm pn for the desired grommet if it is still available look it up at nalley. If doesn't matter if you don't have a grommet on your crankcase ventilation hose. yeh it will allow more hot air to enter into the air filter housing but unless your restoring this aspect who cares.

Well after replacing the PCV valve grommet, I see what you guys are saying. Its so tight it doesnt even matter.
I got the metal clip with the new breather filter. Can anyone tell me which way it goes on? I dont remember because its been about a year since I took it off. It seems like it should be in between the filter and air cleaner, with the C opening facing down. But there are also metal marks that seem to indicate the old one was on the outside of the air cleaner in between the hose and cleaner, with the C opening facing up. I couldnt get either way to snap closed though.
