wrong accessories?
Finally ready to install my power steering pump, crank pulley and alternator for my 355 swap. I took all the pullies and accessories off of an 82 camaro's LG4 although I took the water pump and alternator to autozone to make sure I replaced them with the right parts. The problem is my water pump pulley holes don't line up with the new water pump and it looks like the pulley will sit a few inches farther out then the crank pulley? Any ideas?

I have an 83 (v-belts, intact, no AC) and my 87's old accessories sitting (converted to serp.)
Post up pics of what you have and I'll try to help.

Re: wrong accessories?
Not sure how to post pics on here but I've got the alt bracket on the top passenger side, the bracket right below that, two brackets near the top drivers side for the powersteering and I believe that's it off the top of my head. Not sure what the issue is since everything worked on the 305.

Re: wrong accessories?
These are all my accessories mounted on the old 305. Now that I look at the pic I realize I was using a different water pump pulley yesterday. :/

Re: wrong accessories?
New engine. Trying to remember how the bracket under the alt mounts near the water pump.
Re: wrong accessories?
The water pump for serpentine setup is reverse rotation (driven by the backside of the belt) GM changed the bolt spacing on the pulley so it cant be used with a v-belt pulley. As far as the belt alignment goes there is about a thousand different setups you will have to rummage pulleys till you find one that works.

Re: wrong accessories?
Ok so I'm retarded - had the water pump pulley on backwards so I should be good once I figure out how the bracket to the left of the pump bolts on. Any suggestions? My water pump bolts are too far recessed for the bracket to bolt directly to it. Now that I look at it, I'm guessing there was an ac compressor mounted on the top right so I should be able to take those two brackets off as long as I'm able to have everything spaced correctly so the belts/pullies line up.

Re: wrong accessories?
In this pic you can see where the bracket underneath the alternator mounts. Looks like it bolts direct to the water pump?

85-87 camaro or firebird, tuned port . Look at rock auto.com to see manufacture part numbers and pics. There will be the mounting tabs for the alternator.
