Are plug wires for TPI 305s the same as TBI 305s?

I have a 305 TBI RS and i need new plug wires. I'm planning on switcing to TPI pretty soon, and I saw some accel wires for TPI cars in jegs for 53 dollars. I was wondering if these will work for my engine. Thanks
Brad

Better wires will result in the most "spark" getting to the cylinder to "light" the mixture. I have heard people complain about Accel wires. I run MSD 8.5 Superconductor wires which only have 50 ohms/foot (stock GM is almost 1,500 ohms/foot). I have measured the resistance and compared them to other wires and definitely the MSD 8.5 Superconductors have the least amount of resistance of any plug wire.

As for durability, they last as long as any other good wires I have tried. After 2 years of running, 6 out of the 8 wires were still very close to their "resistance" that they were when brand new (could reuse). One was weak (should be replaced) and the other was very weak (needed to be replaced). That is about as much (two years) as I get with other quality plug wires, so I felt happy with the results.

BTW, I replaced all 8 even though only 2 really needed to be replaced. Better to do it once every two years than constantly tracing a "weak" plug wire every couple of months (had I just replaced the bad ones).

I hope you are not saying that you are running your TPI with the TBI ECM?

FakeIroc, how long did it take you to do the switch? Did you change fuel lines, and what type of fuel pump did you use? I'm probably going to start the swap this month, anything in particular i should know about it? Thanks,
Brad

I have a solution, just buy the 350 plug wires, take out the tbi 305 and buy a 350, then stick on your tpi and throw the old engine in a ditch.

Took Me About A Week A Couple Hours A Day.I Used The Same Fuel Lines That Came On The Car.Fuel Pump I Bought A New One For The TPI.Mine Was A MAS System If You Are Doing It To A 91 I Beleave Thay Were Speed Density.I Had A Compleate Doner Car So That Made Things Easyer.I Did Not Change The Interior Harness So I Will Need To Change Some Pins There But It Runs And Every Thing Seems To Work.Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Not All Of Us Have $1000.00s Of Dollar's To Throw Away On Our Cars.Mine Is A Driver That I Like To Tinker On But Small Things Like Morgage Payment Property Taxes Utilitys And Truck Payments Keep Us From That.Don't Get Me Wrong I Would Love A 350.
