Vats Help!!

Hello all so I just got my car started, when I turned it off it wouldnt start back up no crank whatsoever(power to radio and lights were fine) took apart the steering wheel and found the lock cylinder wire broke off enough to where I can't grab it. Replaced the whole cylinder and had two keys made a number 5 and a 13 neither one worked the I got a 1.2 on the ohm reading.. Any ideas on what else could be wrong please and Thank you all

When you replaced the cylinder you were able to reconnect VATs wiring? You could also wire the resistance value of your key into the VATs wiring to bypass it like so many here have done.

Yes the car actually started this morning and was able to drive around when I Turned it off it wouldn't start again I tested the resistance output of the wiring and it is correct but it still won't start

Re: Vats Help!!

Try this....start car.......let it run.......turn it off.......try starting it again.......if it won't start, wait a few min's.....try again. If it starts right up, you got a VATS Timer issue. And I'm not crazy familiar with that. GM fixed my 88 under warranty.

Re: Vats Help!!

I used one of those $10 ebay VATS bypass. Worked great, quick and easy. Hardest part was making sure I had all the right wires.

Re: Vats Help!!

Thank You all for your responses I ended up replacing the cylinder again and getting a new key made, not sure if it was a issue with the lock cylinder but it is starting and running fine now.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL
