New fuel pump and car won’t start?
New fuel pump and car won’t start?
Soooo pretty much.I got a 3rd gen Camaro from a family friend and they drove and ran it before but it had minor fuel problems where it would just die on them .but pretty much I had the Camaro sitting for around a year and I’m finally starting to work on it .And I can’t get it to start .it starts with starting fluid spray but i can’t get it to start on its own .I’ve changed the fuel filter ,I’ve bought a new fuel pump , new fuses everywhere including the ones by the battery ,new relays .And still I can’t get the fuel pump to send fuel to the engine or injectors.I tested the power with the multimeter and there was power in the back where the pump is .but the gauge for the gas isn’t on and I hear no prime or noise coming from the pump .So I’m not sure what to do .Any help is appreciated thank youuu

What was the fuel pressure before and after you changed the fuel pump?
Wait a minute...are you saying the gas gauge is indicating E???

You have power but do you have ground back at the pump. I've had sending units fail in this manner. Might also be the reasoning the gauge reports it's past full

Same as you would check for power with a test light or multimeter, only difference is you hook up one end to a known good power source instead of a known good ground.
iirc, the sending unit has three wires. Power in. Ground in. Ground out for the fuel gauge. Ground out will vary depending on where the fuel level is, that's what changes the fuel gauge reading on the dash.
