Heads

What heads are the best for a 350? Within a reasonable price?

AFR,
sportsman II,
fastburns,
edelbrock,
etc etc
If and when I finally build the 350, I want to have something with good power.
450-500 sounds good
Thanks,
Chris

For under a grand... Edelbrock RPM and TrickFlow 23 degree
For much over a grand... AFR 195s.
For $400 ... Vortec heads. But dont expect even near 400HP with them.

how mucg are the AFR's? I hear a lot about them but never got a price.

Also, whats the best power I could expect a SD TPI setup from a 350 to make? Properly tuned of course

AFRs are about 1200-1300 I believe. More if you order certain drilling options, or different chamber volumes, etc etc

I had a 350 SD setup and I dont think I ever went over 300 HP. Went with a carb and made over 400 HP with just the carb change. I know it sounds bogus, but I did pickup over a second in the 1/4 mile.

Geez, just when I thought I was going to go with a TPI, maybe I will go carb, or maybe stick with my TBI

Going carb will be a lot easier and if you want pure speed and acceleration... it's definetly the best induction setup. Edlebrock RPM heads, an Edelbrock RPM intake and 750cfm carb, and their RPM cam will make 420 HP on a garden variety 350. That's not bad! You willl run mid 12s easy with that setup. All for about 1500 ? Not too bad.

Do you happen to have stock in Edelbrock?
Just kidding, I like their stuff too.

No I dont. A good friend of mine has a nice first gen Camaro with the whole edelbrock package on it. Heads, cam, intake and carb on a stock 350 bottom end. His car flies on motor alone clicking off low 12 second ETs. On NOS it's insane!
