l69 vs. v6 stang
on the way to work last night i ran into a newer v6 stang at a red light in my newly purchased 84 t/a l69 a4 3.73. It was my first race in this car and it suprised me, by time he chirped his tires from 1 to 2, i already had a car length on him and then let off when the two lanes merged into one. Sure beats the crap out of the lg4 that lost to new cavaliers.

good kill, L69's are awesome. have you dont anything to it yet? wait til you see how much a carb, intake and headers will wake it up. do you have to pass smog?

magazine tests are NEVER accurate. most mags from 84' told me my Z28 would run a low 17 in the quarter. my roommate (whos only raced twice at dragstrip) ran it for a 16.2. magazine tests SUCK!
Yeah maybe. It's just something to check out. BTY, Motor Trend tested the 90 IROC-Z with a 14.4 @ 98 in the 1/4, I'm sure most stock IROC's dont run 98 trap speeds. To me most people call the magazines inaccurate when the test #'s are higher than average, but when the magazine tests are lower than average, no one seems to disagree with the magazine.

I just bought the same car. Unfortunatly the trans is doing weird things 1-2 shift at 3grand or 4500 about 2 seconds in second then third. Please run it stock for a baseline. Mine will have carb, intake, full exhaust, and a five speed before its on the road again.

ya, i love this motor, 3.73s help too. Itll probably have the catback redone before i run it, but that should be it, hopefully i get around to it soon, ill let ya all know. And magazines usually got like low to upper-mid 15's on em stock, 0-60 in around 7.5 for an auto, 7.2 for a manual, i think, dont quote me though
