I know I'll never be able to compete with this guy, but he's got a '94 Supra Twin Turbo. Just got it, saw it a few minutes ago down the street and talked to him. It's a 94 with like 80 something K miles on it. It's already got a huge downpipe that he says is worth like 40HP, then he's getting a boost controller and Apex-i exhaust I think he said he was getting, said he'd be pushin 430hp. The engine is out of the car right now, but he's fixing it all. Something with the clutch went and took a bunch of other stuff with it. What do these run stock, and what do you think this one would run with the mods he says? I'm not out to race him, I'm just in awe at this ***-like automobile. This is just crazy, I've never seen anything this insane around here..... I wanna get to be friends with him and get some pics I didn't know there were people that really were this into stuff around here....

Supras have always had kind of an underground following as long as I remember... I've wanted one since like my Jr. Year of high school... (4 year ago, now a college jr.)

I think they'll run in the high 13 range stock, and respond to ANY mods extremely well. "The usuals" like exhaust/intake/boost + can put a car at 400 HP before you get the credit card bill from what I've read...

Forgive me for bringing this up.... but I'm not sure If I'm happy about a Supra getting a lead role in the F+F. I'm glad to get a true Japaneese supercar getting some recognition... but at the same time, its "underground" status is pretty much gone now, and theres probably a lotta trendy punk kid getting them and doing crappy halfass jobs of building them and ruining an amazing car that there really aren't too many of.

A'PEX-i GT spec exhaust(3.74 inches, GAWD D@MN!!!)
Boost controller(not sure on brand)
Bigger intercooler(ditto)
he's already got a huge downpipe, deletes the 2 stock cats and is supposed to be good for 40Hp which I've read on more than a few sites now.(again, don't know the brand, he got this from the guy he got the car from....)

So that's the stock 320+40 for 360 with just the downpipe
Anybody have ideas for the boost controler, intercooler, exahust?

I think they r supposed to run 13.3 stock.... and he's bumpin it up 100hp or so...... that's insane....

 

He should be running high 13's stock. With those mods he should be able to hit low 13's to high 12's. He shouldnt be running lower than 12's unless he's messed with the fuel system and the suspension.

 

dont flame me guys but rx7s are fast too. my cuzin has one and he can whoop on my camaro and he can also whoop on new ls1s and keep up with the new zo6s

 

Yup RX7's can be fast too. I got respect for the turbocharged imports. Those RX7's produce amazing power and amazing redlines from that small 1.3ltr rotary. The only thing I've heard bad about RX7's are the horror stories with the tranny's ... I knew a guy with a modded RX7 and 3 extra tranny's in his garage just waiting for the current tranny to explode. hahahah

 

Stock supra TTs should be running mid 13s. I have heard of BPU supras putting down 400+rwhp running mid 12s. So once your friend is done with his car it should be quite impressive.

 

Yah, our local dragstrip runs midnight races sometimes, just for anyone who wants to go run for fun. The fastest car I've seen there was an RX7 running 10.7. Not bad for a 4500 ft elevation track. But, I have a feeling that car MIGHT be a trailer queen.

and with the wierd pulse the rotory has I feel every single pulse in the core of my chest with how deep that thing is

almost like having 2 15's go off at 500 watts a piece. maybe not that loud... but you get that feeling through your body

I know mine blew but that was do to massive abuse and more power then the 87 N/A tranny could handle


the turbo trannies can handle quite a bit

and I know of a few third gen guys who are 11's or lower on the stock tranny as a daily driver
