beat a 2002 cobra

what does a 2002 cobra run?? i beat one last night and it was a manual.

i was cruising setting in my new 373 gears and i saw a car swerving in and out of traffic. i was just out cruisin so i thought nothing of it. i pulled on to a road called racetrack road and proceeded to cruise. i had about 130 miles on my gears so i felt they were pretty set. anyway i saw a car come flying by me and i just sort of chuckled. the green light that was no joke 30feet in front of him began to turn yellow. he slammed on his breaks. i was like oh great here we go. i looked over at his car and it was nice. he had some stillen stickers or something. anyways i wasn't sure if he wanted to race since no one has challenged me yet, so i coasted off when the light turned green. i saw he was actually racing cause i saw his front end raise up and he just took off like a bat out of hell. i pushed the gas about a half for traction and then floored it. i pulled right upside to him and continued to pull. ny the time i hit 75 he was about a car to a car and a half behind me.i slowed down to chat and say nice car and he just flew by me! i was like come on dude you have a nice car?? anyways what do one of those run in the quarter?? i surprised myself. those gears helped me a lot. just thought i would share

Nice kill man!!! I remember racing an older 96 cobra. It was convertable and I was so proud. What gears did you previously have? I have been thinking about changing the rear end gears in my car, but I didn't know if the difference would be worth the cost.

Um, they never made a 2002 or a 2000 Cobra. They skipped those years. It was either a '99, an '01 or an older cobra

It depends a 1999 Cobra should run 13.6-14.0 and a 2001 Cobra should go 13.2-13.8. I would assume it was a 2001, but it could have been a 1999.

I don't want to rain on your parade or anything, but if it was a 99 cobra, they ran like crap from the factory. They had a horsepower problem, I think some of them fell asleep! But some of them ran fine and were fast cars. Good kill in either case!

haha, erectile dysfunction Well I guess that new supercharger on the cobra could be considered it's Viagra then. Good kill man, I hope I can get that kind of response when I do my gears and TC. Then my drivetrain will actually be matched and I will be out of the 16's.

Yes, but 99s Cobras are some of the fastest out there.

Bob Cosby went 11.678 @ 114.66 in his Cobra with bolt-ons and Drag Radials.

I an Mullane aslo went 12.159 @ 110.59 in his bolt-on Cobra with Drag Radials.

Not all 99s are dogs, and you never know you may have a very fast car and raced one of these guys!!!

Hey 5.0, I think it is kind of funny, but mostly sad, that your Jeep would kill my Trans Am. ha ha

Don't worry about it, I have a kid who wants to race me in an Integra when the track opens. He went 15.9 last year and this season with more mods he wants a 15.6, so I suggested we race and he liked the idea. It started as a joke but I guess he really wants to race me!

Oh well, the Jeep takes them out in the winter, and the Stang does in the summer!

i forget what the hell happened there, wasnt it that the intake runners didnt line up right with the head ports and created some horrific restriction? stupid ford, sold the damn things anyways and had to do a recall to up the power.

I never heard about that! Thats bad business plain and simple, just like the decision to continue using firestone tires even tho they knew the workers were unhappy ove there. I'll bet you have a fast car man. Nice kill - how is that 350 H.O. w/ the Raptor Transmission? Must be fun!

The 5.2 powered GC's are at best in the high 15's low 16's. The 5.9 Limited was a low to mid 15 but not many were made, I've seen only one driven by a Chrysler rep when I worked ata Dodge/Jeep/Eagle dealer a few years ago. The 5.2's have good take off but fall off after awhile.

The one thing I noticed with the Jeep is that off the line it really isn't very special but it does pull in 2nd gear! I am just going by the car-stats site and I have been told it should go low 16s high 15s. I may throw it on the G-tech sometime before I go to the track (If I do with it). It is my winter beater so i am not too worried about what it runs!

Welcome to the club man. I beat a 2001 cobra with my truck. This was due to the fact that the car was not driven properly but a kill none the less. They were granny shifting it. in the gear it was obvious it could have walked me pretty good. I had quite a few cars on it by 70. It kept pulling up and dropping back. The guy driving it looked 60

He must have been a very bad driver to get beat by many lengths and you have gone 15.1 (which is very good). I have missed shifts and cruised down the track to 15.2s so he must have done something wrong.

Then again I did beat a Vette 3 out of 4 times we ran, and at the time I was running 14.3s!
