3.1 vs 325i bmw

Fixing to race a buddy with a stock 325i BMW with 159,000 miles on it. My 3.1 being only 109,000 and has already beat 2 irocs from a roll. My car seems to be faster from a roll because when i race a iroc from a dead stop i get killed. So yall think i will beat the bmw?? and should i race from roll or from stop??

How old is the BMW? My buddy has a 95 325i and that thing is pretty quick from a roll. I don't think you stand a chance unless the 325 is old and worn out.

If it is a newer 325 than it should run I think somewhere in the low 16's high 15's. What kind of Iroc's did you take from a roll?

The BMW 325i is more of a topend car, so I suggest you race from a stop. By the way, were those Irocs powered by LG4's?

Not sure if they was or not, im assuming that the cars were not running great, cuz i know the V8's will put at least 3-4 cars on a 3.1.

I have raced a newer 325I. Granted I am not in a 3.1 but my 305TPI is pretty close to stock. I smoked him BADLY.

I don't know how much faster a 305TPI is than a 3.1 V6. But if you do than you can do the math.

In the 1/8 I had about three car lengths on him and was continuing to pull until I shut it down. I was surprised the guy didn't give me the rycer flyby.

You'll find those guys running 15.6-15.9 @ 87-89mph in bone stock form. Pretty darn quick; I'd pick on someone else.

I think maybe your refering to a M3, Cuz when I looked it up i come up with 16.7-16.9 Now the M3s are easily capible of pulling 15's, Are you sure it was a 93 325i?

M3's are easily capable of 13's. The new ones are at least. Even the older ones run like 14 flat.

Never went up against the M3. But the 325I wasn't a problem.

Yea i know, a M3 is more of a LT1 challenge. My friend has a LS1 and he kills them all the time. Of course he has a intake a gears and pulls a 12.9 on the strip.

No man, those times I quoted were for 93-95 325I's. 92 was the first year of the new body style but their engine wasnt as good because in 93 they adopted a new valve timing system.

I think those 15 second 1/4's are for the manual. An automatic on those torqueless weanies would surely knock them into the 16's.

I used to have an 89 325i 5 spd until some girl t boned me at a stop sign. Mine was stock with a dynomax muffler I used to run high 14's/low 15's at IRP...so unless he's got an auto hed probly pull a car or two

the 3.1 is about 1 17 seccond car.

If he's a 15 seccond car, he'll own u by 4 carlengths.

The A4 325i's will trap 87-88 mph consistently. BMW has their auto set up so that you can manually shift it.
