What can i beat

I just did a 305 to 350 swap a few months ago and i'm wondering what cars i could beat or at least keep up with.Cars like LT1's? LS1's? 5.0's? or any other ones?I'd like to know ahead of time so i dont get in over my head.My mods are in my signature.

That's a big cam you have for 305 heads. Does it run well? What's your redline? You may be in the 14's with your combo if everything is tuned well. I would stay away from LS1's. LT1's are in the very low 14's stock. 5.0's are like a box of chocolates!

Official list of things lightly modded or stock 305/350TPI cars should avoid.

LT1 Corvettes/Trans-AMs/Camaros
LS1 Corvettes/Trans-AMs/Camaros
LS6 Corvette
Z06 Corvette (Avoid this one at all costs)
Dodge Viper of any year
Mustang Cobra 99 and up. Don't know about previous years
Bullitt Mustang
Mach-1 Mustang (2003)
Neon SRT-4 (Don't laugh it will beat most of us stock)
Any Turbo DSM AWD
Honda S2000
RX-8

I can't think of anything else that should be avoided. I know there are some other things though that could go on the list.

He did swap a 305 for a 350 but he's still useing (ported) 305 heads.
406TA thinks that the cam may be to much with 305 heads.

Actually, the machine shop suggested a higher duration cam, but i wanted a smaller one so it would be better on the street.

With that stall you can probably get quite of few things off the line. But most of them out there will catch you after that. Those being the higher RPM LT1's and LS1's. If you catch a bad driver in an LT1, I'd say you stand a chance. Past that though, not so sure.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what else i could do to get some more power out of this.I dont really want to go into too costly of mods yet, since the engine is pretty much brand new.I think my next mod is going to be a 725 street demon carb.Right now i have the stock Q-jet. I thought with this engine i would at least be in the 13's.Im a little dissapointed in what u guys have been saying.

Only way to find out for sure is to hit the track with it. Once you find out where it runs, you can start looking at different options for making it faster. Or it may be fast enough, you never know when your car will surprise you.

I agree. Have fun with it and see what happens and go from there. BTW, what compression ratio are you running (dome pistons + 305 heads = lots of compression!

Lightings of any year
'86 - '95 5.0 Mustang's (until you know what their running for mods)
Typhoons and Syclones
Turbo Omni's (seriously)
Turbo RX-7's
Supra's
GTP's
Anything with a Big Block in it (As long as it doesn't weigh over 5000lbs)

And I'm sure there is more

Later, Garrett
