beat gtx with the rs
So I was coming home from grandfathers house and catch a red light. A 90ish gtx grand prix lines up with me. The light turns green I punch it so does he but He spins like crazy, so I was far head, like 3-3 1/2 car lenght then his supercharger can on, then we were fender to fender. Then he shift in to 3rd , I pull ahead, then he shut down.

How much power does a grand prix gtx have? How much power do I have then if I got headers and flowmasters exhaust with a open element, the rest is stock Lo3?

Umm do you mean the pontiac GTP cause a GTX is a plymouth. anywas, yeah i am surprised you beat him they are dang quick and can be very easily modded to make tons of power. not quite sure on the horse power rating if someone could help out with that.

Engine: 350 carbed now
Transmission: World Class T5
Axle/Gears: Peg Leg w/ 3.73's
I dont know how much hp they have but they are supposedly easy mid to high 14 sec. cars. Ive never seen a GTX run only GTPs your probably running high 15's right now assuming you only have headers and exhaust and 2.73 gears. You were lucky but it was a good kill nun the less.

The Pontiac GTX is the new GTP..it just came out. If it was a early 90's-late 90's. It was a GTP. And yes, alot of them had the Louvers in the hood. The late 90's had 240hp..I dont know what the earlier body style had. Some new belts and and pulleys..those things get up to the 260-280 hp mark real quick.

Believe the newer GTX is rated 260 hp, its basically a 3800 series v6 with a blower on top. I doubt he was lucky, most races depend on drivers skill and a lot of these kids running with thier cars dont have any, they just floor it and expect to win because they have the bigger horsepower number on a piece of paper.

The Late 90's GTX was SLP's version of the GTP. They have a functional hood, some other body kit mods, and I believe a better exhaust and smaller pulley.
They ARE faster than a GTP. His supercharger didn't come on, he just finally hooked up.
