L98 vs. 5.0

a few days ago i was comin home from work and sitting at a light about a mile form my house blastin some NWA. I notice a car pulled up beside me and it happened to be a 85 or 86 5.0, so i turned down the music cuz I already knew what was gonna go down. The 5.0 was really a nice clean car and it had t-tops (i havent seen one with t tops). Anyway, the light went green and i holeshoted the **** out of him, 2nd gear came in and he got right on my door but after that the old L98 top-ended him for about 1 1/2 - 2 cars. I didnt get to ask him what mods he had (dont all 5.0's have mods nowadays?)but my car is basically stock with some march underdrives, a K&N, the screens removed from the MAF, and a little timing. Thought you guys would enjoy a classic race.

Good kill. The 85-86 GT's only had 200-210 hp. An 87-92 would have been real close.

I agree 100%, the early foxbody front end looked horrible.

Nice kill! How many Mustangs came with t-tops? I can't even remember the last time I saw one

Yea the T-top fox bodys are rare but are still some out there.

I wouldnt want one imo, mustangs look best as a notchback, nice, clean, and plain.

A t-top fox dressed up to look like an 87-93 GT wouldn't be too bad.

I like the way the earlier 5.0 front end looks! kinda mean and camaroish with the square headlights! the 86-93's kinda resemble a Ford Escort or maybe a Ford Taurus front end. Just my opinion tho...

man fox body's are flimsy as it is, i couldnt even imagine how weak that body must be. A good pothole could probably throw off door alignment

Nice kill, most 5.0's don't even have their original motor anymore from what i've seen.

Hmm weird my 130,000 mile 93 barely has any sqeaks. Didnt even have subframes in my 89 until it was in the 12s with over 130,000 on it, and no issues at all. ALL unibody cars are going to act the same way, and a good set of subframes are really all you need.
