New 3-core rad is in!

Well you just gotta see my parking spot.

I got at least 8L of Rad fluid all over the ground in the public garage, a trail of rad fluid leading to the garbage can on the other side of the garage (where i threw the old rad, hope they won't get mad). I didn't have a container to drain the rad fluid into, so...

But after 2-3 hours we finally got the rad in. Those stupid clamps were our biggest problem. It took us forever to get them off.

The rad definitely helped, but I now realized I do need a new fan switch because the fan is still turning on too late.

Thanks again Rovic for your help. If you ever need anything let me know!

They aren't turning on too late, they are turning on at the right time. You can kill 2 birds with one stone if you buy a performance chip from www.performanceresource.com this chip does help performance and it turns the fans on a lot earlier.

for doing it yourself.

I guess practise makes perfect. The last time I did a rad change in my car I was clocked at 12 minutes.

Actually the most time was spent on the overflow tank bolt and the one POS clamp, other than that we spent a good amount of time on refilling the coolant and cleaning up that mess...

Well "coolant" for one... Anti-freeze or water would also be good name substitutes.

How about the oil, do your buddies call that "engine fluid" too? How about your fuel tank fluid?

I call it pink stuff... my tranny, coolant and washer fluids are all some kind of pink, but the washer fluid will be changed to yellow in a few days, in the mean time it will be blue...

Either way, when I see pink stuff in the driveway, I go $#%#$#@!@#@.

Rad fluid... lol

I bet you call it a "rad"-iator too don't ya? Last I checked a lightbulb doesn't "rad"-iate light. lol

Another one: "Ash"phalt or "***"phalt? It's amazing how many people get that wrong.

I just looked at my coolant jug when I topped up my Jimmy. Surprise, no "rad fluid" mentioned anywhere. I did get a chuckle out of the "performance rated" thing though.

Wow that's a scary thought...

LOL I didn't really pick up a wrench.

Well actually I picked up about 8 to unscrew one bolt, but none of them fit. Lol. We were changing the resevoir for the rad (overflow thingy) and there was this bolt in the wheel well that I couldn't get off. I must've tried every single tool in slade's box, none of the wrenches worked, none of the other things worked, it was a disaster. :P
