stealth ram install problems
My 89 throttle body didnt fit the throttle cable guide had to be modified. The inner rail of the guide hit the fuel rail fitting.
I cut off the guide just past the little hole and the little hook thing had to come off.You dont have to cut the guide just remove inner rail some but cutting it was faster.Hopefully I have it running today if there is no more problems. Also then widening the 4 center holes for 87up heads the holes come close to the end of the manifold about 1/8 -3/16in.

I have it installed! Dislikes first to put on the distributor cap say a prayer its a so tight I thought I cracked the cap.All the vac ports should be 90* its very tight in the backof the manifold. In my formula the T-body hits the hood (And I cut the brace out) Its not dented but if you push the on the hood you can feel it .OK now the good part it looks BAD under the hood and the thing pulls HARD.The first test drive I pulled it to 6200RPM by accident didnt re-adjust the TV cable and it was still pulling strong even with my little cam.And it doesnt feel like I lost any low end at all.If it doesnt rain on friday I'll get some new times.

if the stealth ram is used with stock heads and cam on the 350 TPI on my 92 z, while anything go wrong eventually? or will it hold for a while...
and i was lookin through thunderracing, and they have the stealth ram setup, but u need the fuel rail kit seperatly and also a throttle body, a 58mm would fit fine, i am correct? and
all those put together plus shipping would probably come close to a grand, is it worth it?

no you don't need a aftermarket throttle body, you can use your stock one. I don't think it would really give you any gains with your stock heads anyway. Now if you have a cam and head combo, the bigger throttle body would be a good idea, but if not I wouldn't sweat it, you ' ll be fine. Cause I m going to run that with mine. I just got stock heads and cam, but I do have a freeflowing exhaust system, some I want to see what kind of gains that I will get with this. I m hoping to be in the mid to low 13's. But I guess well see.

I dont have any pics. Its a smoother pull up the rpm's you still get pulled back in your seat just not as hard till you hit 3500rpm.The stock 89-92 throttle bodys are the same so your going to have to modify the throttle cable guide unless my T-body is is just a freak. In the paper work with the manifold holley recomends one of their T-body's I have to look for the PN#.Yes you need the fuel rail kit the stock rails wont work.Would any thing go wrong with changing to a high flow base and runners? It just a manifold, you just wont get the full effect with the stock heads and cam.

I have 3.23 in there now.Friday if it doesnt rain Im going to hit up the track for some times.Let me just warn you Im not going to be the best example for this stock VS stealth ram test.I have mountians of carbon on the intake valves and the 8th cylinder intake valve is taping away and not sealing. But the best ET last time I ran was 14.257-95.59mph so Im going to go by that.

let us know what the times are. This will still give us a good comparison of what hp and et increase just the stealth ram gives.
thanks

One other thing everybody should know the fuel pressure test port is not the same as the TPI one.The one on the stealth ram looks AND IS the same size as a tire valve.Do yourself a favor and buy a 1-1/2 in fuel guage with a 1/8NPT fitting end and go to Home Depot and get a 90* male to female 1/8in brass pipe fitting($2)to screw into where the tire valve(test port) was.

hey Eman I just started my today, where did you put the temp sensor, you know the one that is on the bottom front of the stock intake? The reason I m asking is cause the only hole that fit's it is by the thermostat, did you have to get a adapter, or with that one reach the wiring harrness?

Sorry for the wait. For the temp sensor I used a pipe bushing reducer 1/2 to 3/8 and put it in the bottom hole pointing towards the AC.Its a tight fit and I had to put the connector on the sensor before it was tightend. If you dont want to spend $8 on an aluminum one Home Depot has brass one's for $2. In went to the track friday night but had problems with my trans.I changed the weights on the governor the night before and made them a little to light my trans wouldnt shift at wot.I only went down the track once and got a 14.3 at 95mph witch isnt that bad concidering I had to keep taking my foot off the gas to let the trans shift.Im going to play with the governor this week and try again on friday.

Eman check it out I got my throttle body to fit on the intake with out any problem. I just swap around the fuel rails fittings, and I m going to run the the inlet on the passagers side, and the outlet off the reg. but I still keeping my steel fuel lines untouched. Check out this link let me know what you think, oh yeah I also I ran the fuel line that connected the fuel rails together in front of the distributor. Check it out
if that doesn't work heres the link http://community.webshots.com/photo/...41663137YIYXGb

Did you bend the cross over to fit in front of the distributor? Im almost positive I tried that the first time and the cross over didnt reach.I must have missed something, If you got it to fit thats good news for everybody else.Looks like your allmost done!Let everybody know of anything else yor doing different than I did to make the swap easier since we are the the only ones talking about the swap. Slow89Iroc-Z how did you run your cross over in the front or back? Here is the the adapters I used for the fuel rail the top two http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...A/9894DBH.html

actually yeah, my buddy did any way, it lined up almost perfect, you just got to leave a little slack in the rail fittings to hook up the cross rail. Now the only prob, is that it covers up the dist. bolt, all you have to do is bend it alittle. Yeah I just finished up alittle while ago, 99 percent done. Just have to tie up a few loose ends. Well what I did for the fuel lines, was I took the fittings the one for the inlet and the outlet, and took my stock fuel line, the big one, I just took the rubber hose with the fuel line fittings. And had a hose shop, make me new lines, They just cut off my old fittings and put them on new lines and also new fittings that could bolt up to the fuel rail fittings, It cost about 30 bucks. For the inlet I got the same size as the long hose, and the outlet I got one about 6 inchs longer. I pretty much ran them in the same place. It turned out pretty clean looking, and I feel much better having them connected with fittings instead of clamps.

Oh also I ran the outlet behind the alternater, and along the valve cover to the regulator. I post some pics or actually links tomorrow.

It shows were I just disconnected them at the fender and had new rubber hoses made and how I routed it alittle.
