got the B4C's stuff figured out, now for the blown 91, any recommendations?
Some of you know me from the power adder section but even if you dont well I looked through the FAQ and did a search but there is much variety out there as to my question for my car. a link will suffice as an answer if you wish. I have two project cars which may be 1 too many. I wish to get the 92 B4C up and running and just concentrate all the "go fast" on the 91. I am taking the stock 91 engine and putting it into the 92. the 92 has SLP 1 3/4 headers which I have been told work poorly with angle plug heads. Not wanting to spend much money like for a set of iron eagle straight plug heads or for a set of L31's and TPI lower. I have decided to use the stock heads I have which have been upgraded with Z28 springs, lightweight retainers and 1.6 rockers. I will also be using the totally stock TPI unit. I figured I could atleast change the cam to a cheap EBay one from a stock LT1 or LT4, or a takeout from a crate motor (ZZ 1 through 4). any suggestions before I put her back in? heads? intake? cam? see my sig for any other info.

Who told you that angle plugs and SLP 1 3/4 don't work? I know ofa few people running the AL vette heads with those headers with no problems at all. Hopefully somebody actually running them can jump in here and correct me if i am wrong but i always believed angled plugs are a godsend with SLP headers. I know with the 1 5/8 they make plug changes butter compared to straight plugs. I'd think the bigger tubes would need that help just a little more.
But other than that, the ZZ4 cam is a nice dirt cheap grind that works great in a stock engine without a big supporting cast. Whether you run stock heads or mild heads it will work great. An Lt1/4 cam is basically an L98 cam with extra lift. At the end of the day it is still a stock GM grind though with compromised ramp designs that basically anything could beat.

SLP 1 3/4" headers and old school angle plug heads don't fit. I learned this expensive little lesson first hand. Some of the plugs touch the headers. L98 angle plugs fit pretty well from what I understand.

OK, glad someone chimed in. I';ve only seen 'em with AL L98s. AAMOF, the 1 5/8 i saw with angle plugs were on a set of AFR190s with L98 style angle plugs as well.

I'm running aluminum L98s with SLP 1 3/4 headers and stated, they fit fine. They are a ton better than the straight plug L98s.

so will the ZZ4 cam, L98 heads, edelbrock lower, and super ram upper be the shiznit or what? I mean this isnt my race car ( I have the 91 for that ) is there anything wrong here. Im so used to going all out it is hard for me to hold back on this baby. So what if I use the good intake on this car it isnt like it is getting a power adder like the other car, besides I may just get a stealtram after all for the 91 afterall.
I just have to say tom thats a beautiful b4c. I got my 1le brakes, sway bar,and my rear hatch off a b4c the exact same color as that 1. To bad the engine and drive shaft was gone. The guy that owned the junk yard swaped it into his girls car. Good thing he didnt know about the brakes and sway bar.
He was like whats so special about them brakes. Sorry about off topic but saw the b4c and it was like dejavu. SpdFrk's camaro On page 4 u can see the purple hatch.

Update: I sold some stuff and got a budget, I am putting the 412 as a normally asperated into the B4C because I have ethe stuff to finish the shortblock for the 352 for the blower car. I am commited now on the B4C because I bought some heads. The B4C is supposed to be just a trouble free cruiser/show vehicle so I am going smallish on the cam to save the money for use on the blown car. It will be as follows on the B4C : 412 N/A 2 bolt (arp) short block (.060"), stock crank (.010"/.010"), stock 5.7" rods (arp), TRW forged dish top pistons, and Summit SUM-k1105 cam. this is back from balancing and assembly will happen soon. The heads I bought are Pro-Action Lightning 200cc aluminums with straight plugs (for the SLP headers) and crane 1.6 rockers. The intake will be the Accel Super Ram, the tranny will be my totally tricked out 700 and converter, and the rear willl be the bone stock one (goodbye-snap!). I hope this will make a nice trouble free cruiser to drive around this summer so I can concentrate all my effort and remaining funds on the P-1sc blown 91 Z. So I have a new one for you: I have about $1500 (stretched to $1800) to spend for the top of the 352 [4.155"(splayed)x3.25"(steel)x6"(H-beam), JE piston] motor. I figure a HSR (Holley stealthram), 58mm TB, and a set of 197cc canfields will just about cover it. Any input, or any company or person selling a more serious intake and heads (alum heads only) in that price range? I would love a mini ram and huge AFR's but the budget wont allow. a converted single plane and huge heads would probably cut it as well. But I cant see it through the budget, am I missing something?
