How did you gut your airbox???
I was wondering, how did you guys gut your airbox? Did you take that plastic piece out and then cut the holes, or did you cut them out with it still attached to the car? Does it make any difference? I'm about to do it because I'm bored, and I'm just afraid of cutting something underneath it that I won't realize is there... thanks.

I would pull the air box out. Really just because you would have more room. I don't think you will cut any wires under there. It depends I guess on what you plan to cut it with. If your going to do it cut it all out.

for the amount of work that it takes to get that thing out, i would def pull it out and then cut it. i just used a handheld jigsaw and went at it. Took 5 mins of my time and didn't even break a sweat. If you do try it with it still in the car there are no wires to cut besides your foglight wires (maybe depending on how you go about it), but it'll be more of a pain in the ****

Ok, I started to take out that plastic piece but on each end there is a clip. Can you remove the clip without destroying it? It looks like it'd be held on just fine with the front screws, but I'd still like to keep these clips. I really don't wanna have to order a couple of clips. It's just a hassle, lol.

You should be able to get the plastic screws out, just pull the middle out and then you can take the whole thing out.......but when you cut the plastic you'll want to use a dremal tool with a cut off wheel...makes the job so much easier. Heres a pic of what I gutted when I was doing the ram air ducting....the thing you see at the bottom is the fog light duct.

Well I did it. I just had at the clips with flat head screw drivers and pliers and got them off. I took the plastic thing out, cut out that crap, and put her back in. I think it was a quite noticeable difference. I highly recomend it if you don't have to worry about water or anything. I never drive my car in the rain, so I don't worry about it and wouldn't know if it sucks up water or not.
I think it was a world of difference just gutting the intake, I can only imagine if I did the ram air mod too... it would have been crazy pull afterwards.
