Why am I cursed?

I have the car in the sig. Major mods are.

350 TPI
Ported Plenum
1 5/8" shorties
Exhaust
K&N's and gutted airbox.
3.42 gears
Corvette Torque Converter
Pro-Built Automatics Street/Strip transmission

I gteched today with roughly 3550-3600 race weight.

AC on, and very easy launch, 5200 shifts, I managed a 15.15@91mph.

My car is running insanely rich. I gotta check my FP regulator, cause I set it at 45psi with the vacumn line connected. (I know, I am dumb.) Just going 15 miles or so, I went from half a tank, to 1/4.

I think I am going to drop my fuel pressure first. I read on here the stock PSI was 45, but in another post, I read 38. What is it? In any event, I am going to drop it and see if it helps. If not, I guess I will need tuning.

Thoughts?

I have an accel AFPR and I set mine to 40 PSI With the VACUUM UNHOOKED on my 91 Z28 with a 305. Most people set it between 35-40 PSI because it seems to work the best. 40 PSI with vacuum hooked up is WAY too much fuel.

I found that out afterwards. I am just too lazy to go and put the gauge back to it.

You guys think dropping the FP that much will dramatically help my times?

I wouldn't say you're cursed, but I do agree you're dumb and lazy.

Set the fuel pressure as specified, 43psi vacuum unhooked has always done me right...assuming you're running 22# injectors and a stock 350 chip/MEMCAL.

Re-test and report back.

Actually several people mentioned to do it while unplugged...including this from the Tech Articles section here on thirdgen.org:

Q: How do I correctly set the fuel pressure on my new adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

A: The correct way to adjust your fuel pressure is with the vaccum line of the fuel regulator disconnected. (snip)

When I read it, I could have sworn it said 45psi. Thats it. I found out later on that it had to be done that way.

-edited cause you said it less like a ******* this time.
