You'll prolly run low 15's high14's......

what you really need is 52mm TB edelbrock intake and runner's a 292*dur.525lift. cam and 335 stroker kit with some 3.73 gear's...

tne you'll run mid 13's - mid 12's....

Are you running stock heads? If so that cam is to big for your 305 IMHO. What is the lift on the cam. Again if the heads are stock you might have clearance problems.

Another question. I assume you are running speed density with the cone airfilter? In a 3rd Gen. I'am not sure that is the best way to go as you will be sucking in hot air. A lot of us have spent extra bucks to get a cold air intake system. Just some things to think about. Anyways good luck with your project. Allen

keep the faith and Keep working on it . them LB-9's aka 305TPI's will run just as fast as the L-98's can if not faster in some cases...

i had an 87 Z-28 with a 335TPI stroker and i could stay with the LT-1's most of the time and beat them the rest of the time.......

I didn't alter any thing else just swapped in a 400 crank and bord it 30 over...... and i swapped my 2.73 gear's for 3.08's as i already had them............
That Damn Z-28 handed my 87 GTA it's tail light's.......

but the girl i sold it to swapped the 3.08's for some 3.42's and put a 52mm TB on it with the edlebrock intake and runner's and a 75 shot...

so i'm sure it might even of beaten my 91 GTA's old 350TBI and 3.73's........... but i'll have a 406MPI soon enough.......:hail:

I think you can run in the mid 14's to maybe low 14's if your lucky. The car started life as a low 15 second car. It all depends on how you drive, shift points etc...

He brings up a good point. That may be a little too much lift for stock heads. The duration is fine for a 305. You have the right gears and the right TC for that cam. You may want to check about that lift though. At the very least you will want to change the valve springs. You do not want to get 64cc heads they are too big for a 305. You will want to do some thing with the intake at some point. At least port the plenum and intake. I still think you will easily see 13's. That TC is the key. The best mod you could do. That and a set of drags are worth .8 sec, maybe more.

whats up jfreeman

i wouldn;t bother with the stroker , put in a comp extreme energy 212-218 449 456 112lsa , with comps kit , get your 416 heads ported and polished with bigger 1.94 intake valves , good exhaust , headers, and tune it up ,

i did all of this stuff to a stock 18 000 mile 86 transam , and my car flys now , its unbelievable the get up and go it has now , also i have not yet got the chip correct for this car i am still using the hypercrap chip and it runs that good

good luck and have fun

The 383 that I am getting comes builtup with 400hp and 440Tq and it only cost me 2700. The Dart heads on it would cost me around 1200 if I tried to build it myself.

but i think it's a bit too radicial for a TPI set up....

But i'm sure you could get like 380HP for 2,400 building it your self......

I paid $1,800 for mine it made 285hp@4750rpm & 403Ftlb@3275rpm.
