Modified Air Box

Hi,

I just ordered a pair of K&N Air Filters for my '86 IROC, and I've heard about modifying the stock air box to allow for extra air flow.

Exactly how do I do this?

Re: Modified Air Box

take out the splash guards and cut the bottoms of the boxes out w/ a dremel or a hacksaw. do a search and check the main page for suggested mods for TPI. theres even more you can do for more airflow than that.

Re: Modified Air Box

the more air/fuel you can get in or out of your engine will make more power, you just have to do it tastefully

Re: Modified Air Box

I was thinking of enlarging the "windows" in the lower part of the air box. It would still look nice - I probably should paint it all as well.
