I've always had good results with plain old carb cleaner. Cuts just about anything, including grease and carbon. Love that smell, too. If this is on a removable component, such as the intake plenum, I try to spray it well with the solvent then follow it up with a garden hose to flush out the loosened gunk. If you do this, just be sure to dry it well before re-assembling things.

I used Gumout cleaner, it comes in a pressurized can and all you need to do is to pull off everything till you get to the throttle body then start the car and get someone to work the gas petal a little bit while you spray it in there. i know it sounds like it dosent work but believe me it will ive done it on mine 2 times and it says to do this every 12,000 miles. i think your code 32 is your egr valve too. its a pain in the A$$. done it all. give it a try you will be happy

Best stuff to use is GM Top Engine Cleaner.

This stuff is awesome. IF you are fuel injected, have someone work the gas pedal, and stick the brake booster hose in the can and suck it in. When it empties the can, the vacuum leak will kill the car like it is suppose too....

This stuff is awesome...

It is a can that has the old flip top style top. Where you bend back the ring and pull up on it(sort of like the old beer cans)

You take the hose off of the brake booster itself and stick it down into the bottom of the can. Trust me, it will suck that fluid out of the can. Once all the fluid is gone, the vacuum leak from the hose should be enough to kill the engine. Let it sit for fifteen minutes, and restart the car after you clean off the vacuum hose and reinstall it back on the brake booster.

The car will smoke out of the tail pipes pretty good(can we say smoke screen??) this is all of the carbon that the cleaner cleaned off.(make sure no small children or stupid friends are standing by the back of the car)

You can get it at any GM dealership. Just go up to the parts counter and ask for it.

And yes, stick the vacuum line into the can BEFORE you start the motor...

I wouldn't use carb cleaner unless you want to replace your 02 sensor sometime soon. That's why they have a f.i. specific cleaner. It PROBABLY won't hurt anything, but for 30cents extra why take the chance?

Maybe I'm missing something since I haven't seen the engine in my IROC for a few months, but I don't see how spraying cleaner into the brake booster line is going to help anything. The idle problem comes from funk clogging the IAC passages of the throttle body. To clean that you need to pull the IAC motor and hose it out up inside there and from the inlet of the TB. How is putting in cleaner from the booster line going to go upstream against the vacuum and clean the tb?

Original post is how to clean the intake passages....

The GM top engine cleaner works...

If you really wanted too.... You could also run a vacuum line in front of the throttle body into the intake and let the engine pull it in from in front of the plenuem, that is if you are worried about not geting the front cylinder ports of the runners....

Just letting you know what has worked for me before...

And the best way to clean the throttle body is to take it off. Couple of hoses, cables, and four bolts... 5 - 10 minutes top to take it off...
