throttle body spacer?

I just added the MSD coil and wires and now plan to move on to fase 2 of my upgrades air flow. I am going to get a K&N cold air kit from who i don't know. And was wondering since my car is pretty stock a 52mm is not worth it at this time but is a spacer worth it?

I think spacers are good for TBI's and carb engines only

What would a spacer do on a TPI?

Most likely would reduce his power band even more.

If you have a tpi your runner leigenth is long enough I wouldn't put one on your car. You would be better served saving the money and spending it morewisely somewere else. Look into the tec-boards and find out what tpi mods are reccomended or do a search on the this board for the same subject.

I looked in the tech area under suggested mods for TPI and the Airfoil is on there as one of the upgrades to do. However i hear mixed ideas when it comes to throttle on here.

about the spacer idea... i was thinking of getting a product called airaid.. its a spacer with a helical bore in it, so it spins the air as it goes through and picks up more fuel onthe way into the cylinder. Depends if I go NOS or not... Which may be decided in the next week due to a 300dollar (candian) price on a NOS sytem

Those spacers are a total waste of money for TPI engines as they don't affect the runner length, fuel atomization, or anything else besides giving you a lighter wallet.

TPI is a dry flow so unless you setup NOS at the throttle blades who cares if your air looks like a tornado, it will do nothing for you but as said above lighten the wallet, If you want I can take a drill and grind up your TB and you can give me the money instead.

Seriously, Airfoil is mixed results at best and a spacer is useless. save your money for some heads.

I read an article in a hot rod type book
a while back about those little propeller
spacers.

They were popular in the 50s and 60s, and
were proven to do absolutely NOTHING
as well.

I doubt you'll gain any noticeable power by adding an airfoil. The only thing I noticed when I added mine was that my throttle response was slightly better... but that's it.
