fuel injectors installation height
Has anybody had any experience with these fuel injectors from FIC on their 305 TPI http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/sh...d&productId=60
I am mainly concerned if they have the stock installation height and also how the car runs with them. I did a search and could not find anything about them. My car is at the shop and may need new fuel injectors. These are at a great price. I now that FIC cells modified bosch stile III three injectors for the L98, but this would require chip burning in order to make them work properly on my car. I currently don't have the money to do both the fuel injector replacement and the chip burning. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Call that company, and talk to them. They claim that those injectors are for cars & trucks with TPI. Have them measure from center o-ring to center o-ring. Factory TPI injectors are 68mm (2.68") from center o-ring to center o-ring.
And, if you have a 305, then you want the 19#/hr injectors that you found. These should be flow rated at 43.5 psi.

Re: fuel injectors installation height
Ive got the Bosch III 22lbs modified on my car, they cost $169,95 and they got 3 years warranty and are flowmatched. Never got any better injectors then those (ive tested, Accel, Ford, Multec) and these got the best response.
I would buy the 22lbs Bosch III (modified, same install height as stock ones) anyday from Jon at FIC.
If you go with 22lbs on a 305 you need to adjust the prom (injector constant to the right value 22.02) or lower youre fuelpressure.
Call Jon up and talk to him about this, he will help you out.

Re: fuel injectors installation height
the o ring to o ring leanth is not the issue. its how the injector fits in the manifold and how high the top o ring goes into the rail. his sit up 1/4 inch due to the modified base. the 19lb bosch are white i believe. Anyway you look at it its a good deal. 3 yr warr.

Re: fuel injectors installation height
Those are bosch design II injectors, I'm running them on my car, in 19#. I got mine off ebay for $65 though, they had been cleaned and came with new o-rings. I had no fitment issues, and did not have to modify anything. They are about 1/8" shorter than the stock injectors though, you need to use the clips where they mount to the fuel rail. Otherwise, they will slip too far up into the fuel rail, and not go into the intake far enough. I also used GM size o-rings (which came in my fel-pro TPI gasket kit) on the injector bottoms, where they seal to the intake.
The car runs excellent with them and idles smoothly, although they cause a slight rich condition at WOT. This can be fixed with a tune, I just haven't got around to it yet.
Here's how they look:

Re: fuel injectors installation height
You can reuse the C clips from the stock injectors.
The O-rings that comes with the Ford/Bosch II injectors are little smaller then GM stock ones, So they CAN cause a leak. Tpiparts sells 16 new GM O-rings for 21 dollars.. I bought them when I tested the Ford injectors, now im running Bosch III 22 lbs wich is much better, they are flowrated at 43.5 PSI instead of 39.15PSI as the Ford/bosch II ones..
heres how mine injectors looks like Bosch III is in the car now.:

Re: fuel injectors installation height
The Ford/Bosch II injector, looks similar to the Ford/Denso in shape, but have 4 holes in the spray head, like the Bosch III.
The Ford/Bosch II is a disc design, not a pintle as the older Bosch type I.
The Ford/Bosch type II/III are rated from 20 psi to 60 psi working fuel pressure range, per the factory spec sheet.
The Bosch type III are the newest so are the best designed.

Re: fuel injectors installation height
I too find the new injectors are not linear like the old multiteks.
they are either lean on the top end, or rich, or something different across the RPM range. I tried the new accels. 19 and 21lb.
also, check out this thread on the CF.

many guys seem to run rich after new injectors....

Re: fuel injectors installation height
ny87iroc you have to put them in the intake first, you dont use the clips off the old injectors, you have to put them in the intake ,push them in until both o-rings are in all the way. then you carefully put them in the fuel rail, then push the rail down until you can put the 4 bolts in it .tighten the bolts down a little at a time until tight.jimmy
