Racetronix injector install problem!

Racetronix injector install problem!
I have an TPI aftermarket Edelbrock intake setup, and I was using Ford #25 injectors which seated fine. I now have Racetronix injectors 40# (although I ordered 37#). Any way the Racetronix don't seem to sit /seat right and seal. Out of the 8 I usually get one that leaks like a facuet when I turn the accessary to on. I spent several days now fighting this. I used the vasaline on the o rings, but I get one or two injectors that do not want to seat right in either the stock fuel rail, or the Edelbrock intake manifold. Any one have the same problem, or any suggestions on what to try.

Some people have had to lower the 4 fuel rail mounting towers to narrow the gap. A 1/4 inch makes a big difference.

for the reply. How has everyone done that? Do they leave it on the engine and grind some material off, or take the manifold off and have it milled? Can the mounting slots on the fuel rail be milled down? Is .250 thousands average or were some people able to take off less?

I use the shorter Ford injectors and the clips (any parts store should have them) but I use the GM O-rings, which are fatter.
I wouldn't touch the fuel rail unless you want more gas spraying.

I believe they used a Dremel tool on the car, cover the holes. The issue was taking too much off and causing interference issues.
I use the shorter Ford injectors and the clips (any parts store should have them) but I use the GM O-rings, which are fatter.

Thanks guys for your help. As far as the clips go,if I just use those alone will that still be ok? Just to clarify the nozzle of the injector/s is in the port hole/below,but the upper shoulder of the injector is a little bit above the intake. Say .025-.050 thousands above the injector port.

I've tried Murrays/O'riellys, Advance Auto, Auto Zone, Pep Boys ,and even Napa no one has those clips. I called a GM dealer up and they said they could special order them at $8.00 each and would take 7-10 working days to get them. So I guess i'm going to grind!

Well I ground off .250 thousands of the towers, and I made some of my own clips. THey fit nice and tight now. But they still leak like a faucet when I charge the system. So I just e-mailed Racetronix, although its been over a year since I bought them so I don't know what they can do.

Replace the O-rings with some new GM type.
The only other thing is an injector case cracked. Look stuff over very closely, to see exactly where the leak is coming from. A buddy doing the key while the other looks could bring some insight.
Do the injectors/O-rings fit snug into the holes, and are there two places for the clips, one higher then the other.
Call Racetronics they may have some answers.

I did get Gm o' rings, and they feel snug to tight in the fuel rail but it still leaks. I know the injectors are not crack because I can see the fuel being pushed out around the injectors from where they meet the fuel rail. And I made some of my own clips, the injectors fit nice and tight now. I'm suspecting I got the wrong injectors. Racetronix doesn't have a phone no. just e-mail. So now I have to wait for them to e-mail me at their own leasure.

Just a idea, what if I put the injectors in without pushing them in all the way. Then let the fuel rail seal the o' rings from bolting it down. Also I thought maybe of purchasing another set of o' rings from the parts store, as the ones I bought a couple days ago maybe defective.

I would look at where the injectors are riding when installed and where they seem to be in the fuel rail. Also slowly slide the injector into the fuel rail and watch how they go in and fit.
Any little nick or tear will leak. Make sure that the fuel rail bores are smooth and no ridges or anything that would cause a leak.
With the fuel rail off I would even look at the bores with a magnifying glass to see if there are any imperfections or dirt. What I would look for is small pieces of old O-ring stuck to the fuel rail bores. When cleaning try not to scratch the bore walls.
Carb cleaner would be good to get at any contamination.
