If I'm deleting the cold start injector on an 88 and earlier TPI system, can I use the later 89-92 runners without the cold start privision and without the small tube?
Is that tube strictly to feed air to the cold start injector, or does it also play a role in the function of the IAC?

TPI setup will consist of:
-'87 plenum
-'87 base
-'87 throttle body
-'89-92 runners?

that is the egr crossover tube, it should be present on either type of runners.

 

Well, the stock '89 driver side runner doesn't have that tube at all and if you buy '89-92 slp runners, it is blocked off at both ends of the tube.

 

Both of my 89 'birds and my 86 Z all had it, I never seen one that hasn't.

 

The tube on the drivers side is for the cold start injector and as such, not present on 89? up. The passenger side EGR tube is there on all of them

 

So, the driver side tube isn't needed if you've deleted your cold start injector, right? I can use the 89-up slp runners with the older style plenum?

my bad, the egr tube is on the passenger side, it's been a few years since i've actually looked at one

 

You can see where they delete the cold start tube. You're good to go.
