Pot Catalityc probably HS

Hi,
So I wanted to know something else about my transam about catalysts.
I think the ceramic inside is broken because they make a noise infarnal and when I shake it makes noise inside.
Apparently it is possible to remove them but what are the risks for the engine if there are no more catalysts?
Will the ECM fail? In addition there are pipes that arrive on it I'm told about heater what's the point?

Thank you in advance for your answers ...
Mike

The pipe comes from the air pump system. This can be blocked and the diverter valve unplugged. No risk of hurting anything if the cats are removed and replace with a straight pipe. If you need to meet emissions you need to replace the broken catalytic converter.

Hi
You are on all fronts, you know these cars by heart I am impressed ...
So for pipes you tell me we can block them, how?
And the diverter valve where is it?
Thank you again for your help

I think the pipe that runs down to the catalytic converter comes right off the diverter valve.
If you don’t have emissions you can plug the air tubes in you exhaust manifolds and discard the air pump and run a delete bracket. Pictures of the air system in the link. Delete pulley options in the next post.

Re: Pot Catalityc probably HS

if not, if I open my catalysts and remove the broken interior and close it by leaving the pipes in places it is to empty the catches of their ceramic, it can work?
Even if the heaters are no longer useful for nothing but it avoids a lot of changes.
Because apparently a lot of things to remove them ....
Thanks
Mike .

You can hollow out the converter and still leave everything hooked up.

Re: Pot Catalityc probably HS

It will run that way, but will not pass EU emissions if that is a requirement for you.

Re: Pot Catalityc probably HS

Hi ,
Ok thanks, anyway porcelain inside seems broken.
I have a friend who has a center of technical control. I will have him make a measurement for the exhaust gases to see if that passes or I will replace them.

Re: Pot Catalityc probably HS

Hello

I come to give you some news of my catalysts.
As I had indicated they are HS suddenly I deleted them and after reading the post sent by "tuned performance " I reconnected the air pump hose in the exhaust so as not to have reworked the programming.
Thank you . Now I am going to tackle to dismantle my front seats to carry them to a scellier to remake them. Then watch the game in my front wheel (another post open on the forum)
Some pictures to show you the result

See you soon
Mike
