Fuel line fitting stripped help?!

I’m working on my 1991 Camaro z28 with 5.7L L98 TPI. I stripped one of the fittings for the fuel line between the fuel rail and the rubber hoses on the front of the motor. I’ll link pictures. I’ve gone everywhere even the dealership and nobody has anything that would replace it. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix? This is the only thing keeping my Camaro from running at the moment.
thank you

Re: Fuel line fitting stripped help?!

There were thousands upon thousands built, place a Wanted Ad here in TGO for the lines and possibly the rails if the female side of that fitting is stripped too.
I may even have a set, but I can't currently confirm that.

Re: Fuel line fitting stripped help?!

You could try taking a pick and reforming the threads by hand. Or carefully cut out the damaged threads.

Beyond that, you're looking at either making a new line, or buying a good used replacement.

edit: also leave the bracket loose while installing so the lines can move freely as they need to.

edit2: those don't look like fresh viton seals to me.

Re: Fuel line fitting stripped help?!

That looks very fixable with a small hacksaw blade to clean up the threads. Almost all the thread is still good, just clean up the rough portion with thin blade. The sealing comes from that rubbery viton o-ring seal, not the threads. Just need enough thread to hold light pressure on that o-ring.

+ 1 to looking fixable, use a thread die!

Have you ever seen them for taper pipe threads?

Re: Fuel line fitting stripped help?!

They DO exist for taper pipe threads.

Re: Fuel line fitting stripped help?!

That looks a lot like something that can make a mess in record time. I hope no one believes the advertising - It's not for "any thread" since not all threads are 60°.

Re: Fuel line fitting stripped help?!

Like any tool, it can work IF you know how to use it.
OTOH, you can screw things up equally as fast.

Re: Fuel line fitting stripped help?!

If you need hardlines lmk I have a set. I might have a 14,16mm thread chaser to fix the rail and have rails if needed. But like mentioned I’d use a thread file first

AFAIK, for the OP's specific application, these aren't taper threads.
