LT4 intake pics finally up

These are pictures of the final product. I don't have any pics of the modification/installation process. The pictures aren't all that great because the guy that took them didn't really know what he was taking a picture of. Oh well, here they are.

As you can see, I routed the hoses in a slightly different manner. It doesn't look as clean (although it looks better than I thought it would) but it is a little more practical than running hoses around the back of the motor and back up to the thermostat housing. And yes, the strut tower brace blocks some parts of the pictures. Maybe I'll be able to get some better close ups at a later date.

Wow I forgot I even posted this thread. What a late night that was!! Anyways, thanks for the kind words guys. I'm really happy with it and suggest the swap to anyone interested. It really isn't too hard at all if you have the right tools. I forgot to mention that the fuel pressure regulator you see in the pic is an Aeromtive adjustable unit. It is very close to the distributor and I even had to turn the cover 90 degrees to make it fit. You can see the vacuum line on the top of it. That used to be touching the distributor so be wary if you're planning on going with an adjustablt unit. The Aeromotive one just fits.

Yep I used my stock 48mm throttle body. I had to grind a bit on the linkage so it would clear the coolant hose on that side but it works fine now. I'll eventually go with an aftermarket 58 mm tb when I get the money. I bought the LT4 intake from Scoggin Dickey for about $180. Not too bad considering a high flow TPI base alone costs $300+.

Where did you get fuel rails? Fuel pressure regulator? If I use the stock one for an LT1 is it easy to make adjustable like a tuned port one? Can I use my TPI injectors?

Very Nice!! That LT4 sure sits alot higher than my LT1 since it looks like you don't have the downward bend if the intake duct that I do. I'm impressed that you got the throttle linkage to clear the coolant too, I just used nitrous to accomplish that . GoFasterFirebird, I'm using my stock 22# injectors without a problem. I don't know about modding the LT1 FPR but I know the Accel AFPR fits without a problem. Very nice job Steve, I can't wait to see some numbers on this one.

Where would I get fuel rails?? Also, would I be better off with an LT4 intake or an LT1 with my AFR heads? I am speaking of the raised port sizes. Thanks

The fuel rails are the same as '94-up LT1 fuel rails. You can find them on ebay all the time or check the for sale boards on different f body message boards. www.camaroz28.com is a good one to look at. I'm not sure if you can make a stock regulator into an adjustable piece as easily as you can on the TPI ones. I've never seen a stock one up close. When I bought my rails, they had the Aeromotive adjustable regulator on it already. Yes your stock TPI injectors will fit but depending on what other mods you make to the motor, you will probably need to uprade to some larger ones. I don't see the LT4 intake matching up very well with anything but the Vortec style intake ports without major porting.
