Do all IROCs come with stall converters?

my one friend has a stock 88IROC and he is desputing right now that all irocs come with stall converters. He can "stall" it right now to about 1500 or so, but is he just really powerbreaking? oh, by the way, at the track, if he doesnt have a stall converter like he says, he blew out drive and overdrive------and is looking to buy the tranny from my cousin in the previous post of mine for like $600 or less...is that a good deal, brand new 700r4?

only the automatic have stall converters i think it's cute how you call them "stall converters" what exactly is the differance between a stall converter and a non stall converter? there is no such thing. all converters stall to aset speed or rpm depending on HP and weight and flash at a certin rpm.

According to information I read in a S/10 swap manual(which I have loaned to a friend) the stahl speeds between a 350 and 305 TPI are dif, the codes were in the book, but the 305 had a higher stahl speed (supposedly 2500and the 350 had a decent stahl speed too) TBI engines have a ridiculously tight stahl and the valvebodies are different. Yes a TPI Iroc would have a looser converter.

Yes, they come with stall converters. They also come with horsepower engines, candlepower headlights, ratio rockers, width rims, and pounds/hour injectors.

Typical stock stall speed on a factory converter is 1200 rpm. Don't forget that factory tachs are not that accurate either.

The only way to know the true stall of a converter is with a transbrake. Foot brake stall test will not hold the vehicle to the converters stall speed. The engine torque will overcome the vehicle's brakes before the true stall speed is reached.
