i could been sure i had a 700 r4 all my other camaros had a 700 r4, i was puttin my b&km shifter iin my 89 RS and the little cable glide that goes on the trans wouldnt bolt up for a 700 r4 but it lined up perfec for the th 400?? which one do i actually have?

 

th400 is A3
th700r4 is A4
it shouldn't be hard to tell the differance

A3: 3 speed automatic
A4: 4 speed automatic

if you have the original tranny, then it is a Th700r4 (A4)

 

a th 400 and a th 700r4 are both 4 speed overdrive trans...or atleast thats what that i was told by someone...if its a 700 r4 then wouldnt the bolts line up for it??

 

only the th700 and 200 are 4 speed autos with overdrive, th350 and 400 are 3 speeds.

why do u got such a attitude problem? i was asking a question about something i didnt know, if i knew then i probably wouldnt have asked...ok i know its a 4 speed over drive trans, butfor hte b&m instructions it bolted up in the th 400 spot..thats kinda odd..oh well
