Get a trans fluid cooler, thats why it shift good when cold, cold fluid, warms up fluid gets hotter.

By terrible do you mean sluggish or dont shift.

Fluid coolers are not that expensive, plus they add longevity to your transmission. Which would you rather pay for a cooler or a rebuild, see what im sayin.

shiftin hard when hot, have you tried adjusting your T.V cable

i havent messed with that but read about it earlier, do you think that that could be it, trans cooler seems like a too simple fix...i guess i was expecting the worse--i need a new trans---i may go see about adjusting it now

It depends on what valve body modifcations have been, B&M for example can do this. Are the shifts at light throttle opening on the 1-2 shift hard? If the TV cable is set right (very little to no play at WOT) and there is not a valve body kit installed, and the shifts are late & hard when warm, then a stuck TV (throttle valve) can do this. The Trans-Go valve body kits can solve this with their "no-stick" throttle valve.

Great! I just bought a B&M kit. I take it you do not recomend it?
Can I make it work? or should I trash it? I can't return it, but have not installed it. I plan on using the RV/4X4 stage, not the street strip. Is there anything that I can do to the kit to make it livable?

I've never heard anything good about the B&M shift kits.
