slight tranny problem

Transmission: AOD 700r4
slight tranny problem

well,the tranny only shifts into 2nd at 4500 rpm's then after
that it won't shift into a higher gear. any thaughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Try adjusting the TV Cable. If that dont work. Probably time for a rebuild

Axle/Gears: Currie 9inch w 4.30 gears
i recently had the same trouble and i installed a shift kit and had a good look around in there and did a good transmssion flush and it is better than ever now just a thought, i think mine was due to build up from being stored winters, just a guess though

Transmission: t-5, t-5
Axle/Gears: open 3.42, posi 3.42
among other small problems(reasons for late shift), probably a shot 3-4 clutch pack, which would prevent you from shifting out of 2nd. mine currently does the same thing.

definitely rebuild time.

well i appreciate all the input, i was hoping i wouldn't have to get a rebuild but it was bound to happen sooner or later i'm actually surprised it lasted this long. well thanks again, chris

Adding the modified Trans-go performace Shift kit, along with the Corvette servo & larger boost valves, will (if the 3-4 clutches are still in good shape) solve this in most cases. If i can be of help, let me know?
