The higher priced one is a heavy duty unit, just made to handle more power, i have the $119 in my car and love it.

Is there anything else I need to get to make it work?

Should be a direct swap. I didn't realize I could still find the OEM's for that cheap. Soon as I get some cash I have to order one of those 120$ ones again.

Wow those $119's are a deal if they are new. I'm am guessing take-off's. Probably not even the 5 mile take-off's either. Ebay has those cheaper sometimes.

For the heavy duty one, you need the two piece paddle kit or grind down the edge of the paddle if you switch to higher gears than 3:42's. Otherwise you can't fit it in. The optional one came in my 98 SS and I found a used 2 piece paddle kit that came with earlier optional tosens.

I bought a spare regular torsen for $99 back when I toured the F-body and SLP plant.

120 is still a great deal on the regular torsens.

How good are the regular torsens compared to the heavy duty? I was thinking about putting in a new posi as my current one is absolute junk. I was thinking about an Eaton, but they are pricey compared to these.

Torsen's are pretty good, a lot of ls1's running 11s, 12s, and 13s have them.

Yes the standard ($119) were in almost all 98-02 Z28 and TA, except SS and Firehawk models.

Was standard in all F-bodies from 98 up. The HD was an option in 98 SS's and Firehawks. Plenty of the SLP cars came with the regular torsen. SLP dropped the HD torsen option in 99 and only offered the HD auburn.

!!!!ALERT!!!!

You have to have the '89 and later 28 spline axles if you are going to run the take-off Zexel Torsen unit. I bought the standard take-off Zexel unit from SLP a few years ago when they were sellin them for like 90 bux. I love the unit, but i had to swap to the later 28 spline axles in my old 86.

Yeah the site looks semi abandoned and only has email as a source of contact..... . Probably were selling the old 99$ slp take-offs at 20$ mark up, but I could be wrong.

He might have sold the last one 5 years ago. I think that one is dead.
