Transgo actually bothers to research and find out why trans' fail and make attempts to remedy factory deficiencies as well as add performance.

B and M just goes for jack hammer shifts

long story short :-)

Dp yourself and your trans a favor and go with the Transgo setup

trans go parts are the way to go. sorry to say but the b&m kits although get the job done, they do it in a hack job type of way.

The B&M kits do the job, if the job is to make the transmission shift hard.

guys ive been thinkin about gettin a trango shift kit for a few weeks now, but recently saw that one my fellow TBI guys (cadillac) recently put in a corvette servo. Now i dont know anything about building transmissions, but i do know that the transgo shift kit has the corvette servo in it. Now my question is, what the benefit of just putting a corvette servo in (Which is pretty cheap) and is it easier/more worthwhile to do than just putting in a full shift kit.

The Corvette servo (which also came in some cars besides Corvettes, including some F-bodies) gives more holding power on the 2nd gear clutch band. Using it is a good idea, but using it with a shift kit is even better.

I've driven the same vehicle with both shift kits. The TransGo is better hands down. The B&M kit had hard WOT shifts, but the part throttle shifts were hard too, often overly extended, and the downshifts could be a bit harsh. The TransGo kit is like you are driving a Mercedes at part throttle and while downshifting. When you go to WOT it gives you wiplash just like the B&M. It's the best of both worlds. If it was a race car and you want to firm up the shifts cheaply then the B&M has its place. In a street car I'd say go TransGo.

The Vette servos are a great upgrade too. More apply area equals more holding power.
