Axle/Gears: 3.23 bw, 2.73 10 bolt.
carb on a lockup converter
will my 700 r4 be okay if it never locks up due to me switching to carb?

the worse thing about it not locking up is heat. If you install an external trans cooler, you should be fine. If you are still worried about it, you can get a switch that will control the lockup. I think jegs or summit have them for around $150.

But I talked to dana at probuilt. I also talked to someother trans builders, and they all said that as long as you run and external cooler along with the stock cooler it would be ok. It wouldnt be a bad idea to install a temp sensor also.
He could also have the trans converted over to non-lockup.
Trust me, I wouldnt give any of this advice if I hadnt thorougly researched the same question.

I guess I thought that I just threw out the info with nothing backing it up. I just get in a hurry trying to help sometimes.
