Re: borg warner crap
IMO to hold any power in our thirdgens you need a built 700R4 or for those like myself that prefer a manual, the T56 swap is the way to go.

Re: borg warner crap
I ran very fast times (119-120mph trap speeds) with a supercharged firebird fir many years with the T5 with no problems. It isn't the T5, it's the driver that breaks 'em. The third pedal on the left, is the clutch.

IMO id trust borg-warner over any other product, and i just had my 700R4 rebuilt to handle a 383 w/ nitrous, and he recommends borg-warner

No such thing as a strong transmission on a budget. Any aftermarket manual trans is going to cost $2000 or more.

Re: borg warner crap
If and when you rebuild the T5, buy a shifter with the stops on it, overshifting hurts these transmissions. Also as noted, use the clutch, don't be slamming gears in them.

Re: borg warner crap
yea i def agree, i like the t5 aint nothing wrong with them,.,. Its not fair to judge one trans., that has prob seen better days to all the borg warners.,thats like stero typing.,lol ., any way with those you you really just got to make sure the clutch is all the way in when you go shifitng around,. or youll def ruin the throw out bearing., but most likly not the gear box.,in my opinion i believe they hold up extreamly well,.., then again honestly i never had a t5 in a v8 camaro just v6., but that has not stoped me from abusing it,.lol.,
