CONFUSED

does anyone know the spline for the differentials for an 88 tbi camaro ? at lest thats what it started life as. is it 26 or 28? i read 88-up is 28 and seen 76-88 is 26.

IIRC, camaros didnt get 28 spline axles till 90, also IIRC, the 89 RS i parted had 26.

Where did you read that 88 and up is 28 spline? Its 90 and up for f-body 10-bolts. I'd like to find that link and fix it.

he may have read it off-site, in 88 s10's started getting the 28 spline stuff

ummm my 89 rs had 28 spline axles in the factory rear,i am the second owner of the car, and the rear has never been changed

I was thinking that 89 was the change-over year. Some 26, some 28.

S10 trucks got 28 spline axles the same time the Camaro did, late '89 or early '90.

No surprise there. The f-bodies were switched to 28 spline axles in the last few months of the 89 production run, so you probably just have a late-year 89 car. Bummed me out when I found 26's in my original 89 rear. I switched to a Torsen carrier and had to scrounge up a set of 28's to install it.
