Manual valve body for street and strip

Im looking into buying a manual valve body for street and strip and was wondering what good brands were to look at? Im looking for the engine breaking type not just accelerate and free wheel.

also where can i buy the billet planetaries?

Thanks, Chas

For a 700R4, there isn't a huge selection to pick from.

Try TCI for the valve body, they may have the planataries also.BTE Transmissions has 5 pinion planataries, don't know if they are billet.

Ive heard really good things about the TCI Constant pressure valve body.It wont burn the trans up if your detent cable isnt right and its a full manual or automatic.

You can either shift it manually through each gear,or put it in drive and let it shift for you. Some trans will shift from 1st and 2nd at a high rpm even though you still have the shifter in first. This valve body will stay in first until you manually shift it.Sorry i wasnt clear on that.

Re: Manual valve body for street and strip

it's okay....question though...let's say I have that kit installed....And I want to shift the trans from first to second at 5200rpm instead of 6000rpm(like just leaving it in drive)....if you shift it early will the trans. shift, or will it go 6000rpm anyway and shift. The reason I ask is I road race my car and sometimes would like to shift early, but the only way I can at the moment is let off the gas slightly...As the way mine sits now, it doesn't matter when you shift from 1-2 or 2-3, it runs all the way up to where govenor is set too (6000rpm on mine).

Re: Manual valve body for street and strip

If you shift it manually front first to second it gonna shift and any rpm your at.If you leave it in drive its going to shift where ever you have your detent cable set at,but with having that large of i govenor i cant say for sure.It might be better to call tci and ask i cant say for sure.Ive never personaly ran this unit, just have a few friends that have got them and loved them.
