I just put a RAM clutch in my T56 from Summitt. Anyone else running one? Any luck? Complaints? Thanks for the input

I'm not running one now, but I have used them in the past, maybe in one of the 69 SS396 Chevelles or older z28s I've had... they worked fine IIRC. Although, I've never really had any trouble or complaints with any new clutch I've put in, which covers quite a few.

Thanks guys. I've never really heard much bad about them.

Pino- Maybe your slave cylinder was weak?? Oh well, I did NOT get the heavy one, just the replacement. It looks exactly like the GM one. Oh well, hopefully it works fine.

a buddy of mine put the heavy duty in his 94 z-28 and had release problems. He tried it after having no luck with the centerforce DF (it fried once he put the car on stickys) He ended up with the same clutch i have in my 87 T/A with t-56: the mcleod dual friction street disc. works great, mine has had a lot of slick passes on it 2 seasons worth and only slipped when I tried running the car on street tires (riding the clutch)

I am running the stock replacement style RAM clutch in my t-5. I haven't had any real problems with mine other then it burning on me when I beat it up. I beat on it pretty hard one evening at the track and I could smell it all nite. Hell I put it in about 500 miles before I had to repower with my new motor, so I have been blasting it pretty hard for about 5000 miles now and it still holds pretty damn good. I think it is slipping though when I give it hell, and it did that ever since I repowered. I guess I can't expect the stock replacement type to hold 400 horsepower anyways... Oh hey, how much $$$$ was your t-56 from Summit? Do you like it??

I have a little over 100,000 miles on one of their S/R units and have had no trouble with it. It's seen some hard use and I think it is soon due for replacement - it won't chirp going into fourth any more
